In 2023, I spent the day with some friends, walking through Sydney, taking photos and talking all things cameras. My goal for the day was to ask people, complete strangers, if I could take their portrait. I'd never done it before - and to put yourself out there, at the mercy of a stranger, who could say no, was nerve-racking.

At Darling Harbour, @createdbymkla and I saw a group of friends longboarding. We asked if we could take their portraits, and they said yep. Since then, we’ve hung out with this community twice, who have welcomed us with open arms. Something I want to spend more time capturing, is the movement of these riders. Longboarding is like a dance. Seeing the fluid movements, of the body and the limbs - it’s mesmerising.
