For decades, starting at the end of WW1, despite sharing the same earth and the same sea, Slovenians and Italians of Trieste shared a history of division, oppression, deporting and killing. The emotive echoes of this hatred have gone on for generations.
It is my intention to portray an honest picture of modern heritage and tradition of the land, as a bridge to put the past in the past and the present in the future.
In this first chapter, I focused on the Slovenian community in the Kras. Celebrating liberation of Italy, celebrating spring, and celebrating their identity and heritage.
