Self portrait, Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., May 2022. The texture and color of the cyanotype looks similar to a Shanku (衫褲), an everyday outfit worn by the Hakka ethnic group in China of which Shuran Huang proudly belongs. Worn by men and women of all ages, a Shanku is usually blue and black, with little ornamentation. (Shuran Huang for NPR)
