Daniel Sanchez O'Brien

Before most things, I am a filmmaker. My dream is to have a career as a film director, specifically not to be a film director because I will always be that. With money or without. I have been writing, directing and editing my own films for the better part of 5 years now and that work has lead to my no-budget film 'The Five Passions of a Teenager' being shown at the Genesis Cinema in London, giving me that further drive to pursue this as a career. That film was a crash-course on how to make a film in the purest form. It was just me, with a screenplay I drafted over 5 months and a group of overly-eager friends and we managed to create this film together. The experience was invaluable in so many regards, but amidst the painful moments of the process, the long hours editing, the various error screens on DaVinci Resolve and the ever changing problems during filming that kept cropping up, I still knew with all my heart that this is what I want to do with my life.

I have directed and written various stage plays also, which has given me a greater appreciation of the importance of working with actors and how to manage a team properly, creating the smoothest and most fun working environment possible.
