About the artist:
Seba Calfuqueo (she/they) is a visual artist and curator of Espacio218, Santiago de Chile. Calfuqueo's work takes her own cultural heritage as a starting point for critical reflection on the Mapuche subject's social, cultural, and political status in contemporary Chilean society. In installations, ceramics, performance, and video, Calfuqueo explores cultural similarities and differences at the intersection of indigenous and Western ways of thinking and stereotypes. Calfuqueo's work aims to make feminist and queer theories visible in this context. Calfuqueo lives and works in Santiago de Chile.
