Double-Lick

The central focus of the sculpture is the interaction between the 3Teddy Bears and military tanks, symbolizing the overwhelming dominance of the weapons industry. With their extraordinary superpower "Lick it till you make it", the Teddy Bears are depicted in action, utilizing their ability to transform these imposing tanks into delectable ice cream creations. This playful act serves as a powerful metaphor for redirecting resources from destructive forces to the creation of joy and sustenance.

The sculpture also incorporates a unique feature known as the "Double-Lick" function. As the world is saturated with an abundance of tanks, the Teddy Bears activate this function to increase their productivity. It showcases their determination to tackle the overwhelming demand for ice cream, even in the face of adversity.

Within the context of the sculpture, contrasting societal issues are juxtaposed. The lack of purchasing power in the grocery sector is highlighted in the European Union and the United States, while simultaneously, this issue is intensified and even life-threatening in economically disadvantaged countries. This dichotomy serves as a reminder of the global imbalance in resource distribution and challenges viewers to reflect on the consequences of skewed priorities.

Lastly, the sculpture raises questions regarding the ethical dilemma of applauding either the Teddy Bears or the CEOs of the weapons and oil industries. It prompts viewers to contemplate the consequences of decision-makers' choices and consider whether profit-driven agendas align with the collective well-being and sustainability of society.

" Double-lick " sparks dialogue, encourages critical thinking, and challenges societal norms through its imaginative portrayal of Teddy Bears defying a world of misplaced priorities. It serves as a poignant reminder that our choices, both as individuals and as a society, shape the world we inhabit.
