I started working in photography in 2009, just after attending the CFP academy Riccardo Bauer in Milan. The first years, parallel to the first activities as a photographer, were dedicated to works as a printer in a printing laboratory in Milan, LINKE. Lab, of which I was the first collaborator and press operator, as well as a first-person organizer of workshops, events and book presentations with international guests (Stanley Greene, Rob Hornstra, Emiliano Mancuso).
Since 2012 I deal with projects of documentary photography and landscape. After the decision to take distance from the editorial world because of the excessive speed required and the difficult economic conditions of the Italian publishing scene, I focused on self-produced long-term projects. From 2012 to 2015 I traveled to Greece and in particular to the city of Athens to document in a travel diary the terrible conditions of post-crisis Greece and the effects on the population and on the city itself.
From 2014 I started to deal with environmental issues in the territory where I was born and still live: northern Italy. The "La Terra di Sotto" project won the 2016 Wind Trasparency Award as "best digital project", it also arrived finalist at the 2017 Pesaresi Prize, finalist for the 2018 Prina Award and finalist for the 2018 Voglino Prize.
As a finalist of the Prina Prize, the project was exhibited at the Milan Triennale during the group exhibition of the finalist works.
The project was also used by students of departments of Journalism (Master of journalism at the Università Statale di Milano "Walter Tobagi", Master of Journalism at the Università Cattolica di Milano, master of Journalism at the IULM University of Milan) for whom I have lent me for interviews on the issue of pollution in the Northern Italy and in some cases I have contributed with some images from my photographic work.
Several environmental associations have contacted me to invite me to speak in public about some cases and my photographic work during public meetings organized to inform citizens. The last conference was held in Pavia, in the southern part of Lombardy region, where in the past 2 years the criminal associations started to burn plastic waste in an uncontrolled way. I was invited to this conference with Luca Rinaldi and Massimo Cingotti, who cooperate with me in "La Terra di Sotto" project.
Since 2012 I am part of the multidisciplinary research collective Habitat Project. The collective, composed of 4 photographers and a landscape architect, deals with participated transmedia investigations on issues related to living. The last project, called "I live in the Center", consisted in involving the citizens of the north-east of Milan in a choral story about a fragmented and peripheral territory compared to the city of Milan, but always central to the economic dynamics of the city. The 70 photographs and videos produced by the participants will be shown in the various municipalities that make up the area affected by the project from December 2018.
I also deal with moving images: in 2018 came out “Antropia”, the first movie I directed and filmed. The dystopian short film was recorded in the Expo Milano 2015 exhibition venue and was later screened at the Pesaro International Film Festival, at the "Transient Visions 2018" event in Johnson City, NY and at the Short Sounds Film Festival in Bournemouth, UK.
