An important part of the naming ceremony in my culture is the tasting of water and alcohol. Akosua is given a drop of water and alcohol; a representation of what is good and water is bad. She is admonished to be truthful at all time.

A collection of printed photographs of my childhood serves as the sole window into my early experiences with my family. When my cousin welcomed her first daughter, I started a project to meticulously capture moments of her growth. This journey extended seamlessly to the arrival of her second daughter, becoming an ongoing documentation of my niece’s childhood. Through my lens, I preserve precious moments shared with my nieces, capturing their journeys with their family through the art of photography.

The ongoing project of capturing Akosua Osei and Adwoa Osei's childhood through photography is not just documentation but also the most heartfelt gift I can offer them—a timeless treasure of their early moments, fostering cherished memories to hold close as they journey through life.
