Monica Jorge, born in Hartford, C.T., is a photographer based in Brooklyn, N.Y. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Findlay in Findlay, O.H., in 2015, she continued her studies at Trinity College in Hartford, C.T., where she explored her interest in human rights. Her work in photojournalism has focused on news, politics, and social issues including the 2016 presidential election cycle. Since then, she has aimed to explore different demographics of American citizens who voted for the current administration or are impacted by the changing political climate from a town in coal country that felt forgotten by politicians, to her grandmother in Connecticut. She has been a contributor to Sipa, USA, and has published images on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, VICE, TIME, and others. Currently she is enrolled in the documentary and photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography in New York.
