I was born in the Basque Country in 1978.
This land has been inhabited since prehistoric times by the basques. This continuous presence is explained by the context of the land, collected by the mountains that have served as a shelter to a rooted culture and popular customs that are still alive in the XXI century. But not only the customs, the basques also speak their original language, Euskara, whose origins are lost in history, becoming the only living remnant of European prehistory. Here nature, history and legend come together with unusual force.
This struggle to maintain culture and identity in a globalized world also has its dark side: a complex political situation that has led to the last armed conflict in Europe.
With this work I walk into a path in order to reach the soul of the basque people. The road is full of questions, questions I use to define myself as a basque and to awake in my mind the essence of this old country.
