This story is born out of a drift, a reverence for the mystery. Lake Atitlán in Guatemala holds many layers of history, from the hundreds of bodies thrown into the lake during the armed conflict, to the ruins of a newly discovered submerged Mayan community. Moved by this unknown geography and ancestral rituals, I let the dreams and stories of the survivors, as well the strength of this territory of lakes and volcanoes pass through me and bring to the surface the hidden fears, secrets, and scars of the latent violence in the history of our continent.Atitlán
Esta história nasce a partir de uma deriva, uma reverência ao mistério. o lago Atitlán, na Guatemala, guarda muitas camadas de histórias, das centenas de corpos lançados ao lago durante o conflito armado, às ruinas de uma comunidade maia submersa recém descoberta. Movida por essa geografia desconhecida e por rituais ancestrais, deixo que os sonhos e relatos dos sobreviventes e a força desse território de lagos e vulcões também me atravessem e tragam à superfície os medos ocultos, segredos e cicatrizes de uma violência latente na história do nosso continente.
