"What community means to me is connecting and watering the relationships that exist with different indigenous families in the diaspora. It's remembering or co-creating sacred traditions that speak and validate our lived realities. Community to me means we are taking ownership of our authentic truths and telling them through our voices. We are the generation that will continue to denounce and speak openly about our experiences. We are the generation that will critique and question the narratives that have been told by other people without us there. " Photograph is a double exposure of a faja to represent the building of narratives rooted in Kichwa worldviews. Polaroid taken during the Kichwa Hatari team gathering.
