Summary
This post is to honor the achievements of my alma mater, Laurel School, which recently was voted as the Best Private School for Girls in Ohio. Laurel’s curriculum is unique. It reflects research on the power of growth mindset, and the importance of educating girls about stereotype threat. Stereotype threat refers to the risk of confirming negative stereotypes about an individual's racial, ethnic, gender, or cultural group which can create high cognitive load and reduce academic focus and performance.and proven approaches for engaging and retaining girls in STEM fields.

As a photographer, I have always been captivated by the stories of women and their struggles to thrive. Laurel School for Girls, where I graduated from, instilled a desire to challenge norms that has stayed with me throughout my life. The all-girls environment provided a safe space for us to explore our potential and express ourselves freely. I am grateful for the experiences that being a dorm girl at Laurel School provided me. It holds a special place in my heart. At the reunion, I witnessed the students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn big ideas and engage with the world. I hope the future world will still respect women's sacred rights to be free and decide their own destiny.
