Compos Mentis
Throughout my life I have been inspired by the constant creativity in theater and film. They are forms or art that have the sole purpose of engaging the audience by capturing and bringing them to a world that is unknown or unfamiliar. In these images, I put my emphasis on the use of both available and artificial light to create a world within each frame. Inspired by the thought of “painting” my own image, I want to show people in natural places but in a dreamlike state. I feel my images depict the psychological condition of people and what is missing, with questions of reality, space, and time. My camera captures a length of time with a long exposure while the light accentuates specific moments and areas of the environment.
