The increased bush burning, a traditional practice by the locals during dry seasons for hunting wild game and clearing the land for cultivation causes a healthy threat to the communities that live close by including their property but largely to the environment through the large carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere aggravating global warming. Lamwo district is also known for mass charcoal production.
