We are excited to invite Filmmakers aged 24 and under to submit your short films for consideration in Scout Film Festival 2020 - April 17-18. We are accepting submissions exclusively through FilmFreeway now through our FINAL DEADLINE of January 10, 2020.
This is the first year we have instituted a submission fee to participate in our open call. The decision comes after serious thought and thorough discussions around the implications of pay-to-play opportunities. With record submissions last year - a number that tripled from the previous year - we are committed to undertaking the huge task for our initial team to review each and every submission. This year’s fee helps to compensate the pre-screening committee for their time spent reviewing and thoroughly considering each submission. Any additional revenue generated from the submission fees will be earmarked for our career development program at this year's festival and beyond. We hope this provides some insight into our motivations, as we did not come to this decision easily.
In an effort to support any filmmaker without access to credit cards or for whom the entry fee would be prohibitive, a fee waiver may be granted.
Last year, we received 2,166 submissions from 105 countries! Scout, our global community and our audience enjoyed a vast cultural landscape of unique and impactful storytellers who inform, engage, entertain, offer a fresh perspective on the world we live in, and inspire change.
