It is approximated that there were about 11.2 million undocumented immigrants living in the US in 2010. With very few available options to legalize their status, they are relegated to existing as a lower class status, forced to live their lives in the shadows and without rights to basic human rights such as health care, education, or even a voice.  The reasons so many have left their home country vary, but what these people share in common is the dream for a better life and opportunities for their children that would not be attainable had stayed where they were born. These are photographs from various immigration rallies in 2010.

Recently, immigrants have started to emerge from the shadows to demand equality and fair immigration law that protect their rights as human beings. This is the civil rights issue of the day. They are marching to get their voices  heard. They are on La Marcha
