Amid the rising fears of infection in the second wave of the pandemic. Many ugandans have resorted to steam inhalation as a therapy against the novel coronavirus. Evelyn, a 37 year old charcoal retailer in kikaaya,kampala steams at her workplace every morning. " Herbs are hard to find,its just water." She exclaims. There are mixed opinions about the effectiveness of steam in killing the infection and/or preventing it from contracting. According to experts, inhaling the steam is surely good and is advocated as part of COVID-19 therapy too, but suggested that its indiscriminate use must be avoided.
