Summary
Child care centers around Connecticut are losing teachers, and staff turnover is high. Melody Davis, a child care teacher in Waterbury, has recently noticed the change in her classroom. In the past, she had assistant teachers to back her up, but lately she finds herself more often on her own.
She used to work a second job to complement her low income, but she didn’t want to be away from her 3-year-old daughter, McKenzie, in the evenings and on weekends. Watching McKenzie nearby who attends the child care center where she works gives her pleasure every day.
