Joe is a photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Vilnius, Lithuania, since 2013. His interest in photography lies in its ability to communicate and how this can be leveraged to function positively in society. His personal work explores power, identity and memory and how these ideas are used to persuade and control. Previous stories include Witchcraft Accusation and Persecution in Nepal and India, Deinstitutionalisation of Mental Health Services in Belarus and Ukraine, and Living Off-Grid in the UK. He received a BA in Documentary Photography from University of Wales College Newport where he was taught by Ken Grant, Clive Landen and Pete Davis. Since 2021 he is a member of Sponge Lab, analogue darkroom collective in Vilnius Lithuania.
