I and fellow photo editor Elizabeth Underwood sorted through thousands of photos to find the very best images that
the Columbia Missourian staff photojournalist's made in 2020. From the over 200,000 images produced in 2020 we found 63 photos we felt best represented the life of mid-Missourians during the tumultuous year. Working with designer Jacob Moscovitch, we further culled the photos down to a 14 image special section for print including a centerpiece, wraparound cover and two photo spreads. Director of Photography Brian Kratzer provided the text to help tie the pictures and the year together.
