Announcing the 2019 Washington Post Open Call for Photographers

The Washington Post and Visura announce the 2019 Washington Post Open Call for Photographers. This open call is an exclusive opportunity for Visura members to receive an invitation by The Washington Post to feature the winning project or a new project on The Washington Post In Sight photo blog, which showcases the best in visual narratives of our world. The photographer will be paid for his or her feature by The Washington Post.

Past winners include: Alejandra Carles-Tolra, Esther Mbabazi, Chantal Heijnen, David Arribas, Johanna Warwick, Emily Schiffer, Diana Bagnoli, and Brigitte Grignet.

Theme

Please submit your visual stories that chronicle daily life anywhere in the world. We are particularly interested in themes such as: how climate change has affected the way we live, back-to-the-land movements or families/communities living “off the grid,” revelatory depictions of the human condition, and celebrations of local traditions or cultures. We welcome additional submissions beyond these suggestions including Visura members photographing in their own communities.
