Public Story
NYC Teachers Were Right
In September, Teachers from PS 63 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan marched against the NYC Dept. of Education's decision to open schools to in-person learning. With the support of Mayor DeBlasio and many Department heads, they greenlighted the decision. Teachers voiced there concerns about the safety of the schools, themselves, and concern for their students. Protests took off across the city, and the march by PS 63 was one of them. In hindsight, it now looks like the NYC Dept. of education and the Mayor should have listened.
