Private Story
The Mudshow Diaries
Summary
It's about us. It's about a small circus traveling around the country gathering memories. It could be about you.
The Mudshow Diaries is about making sure my kids stay away from the elephants, trying to find a laundromat in a strange town, documenting a world built around family ties and sweat: a diary kept over years of traveling with a circus in the United States became a journey in photography and motherhood, along with a journey into the circus' hidden world. Along the way it also became a journey in belonging.

- 2. Can you describe what it has been like being a mother? What are the challenges and triumphs, and what would you like readers to know about your experience? Because I became a mother at the same time that I left my job as a photographer and my world in a community of friends and family, it was excruciatingly difficult, and plunged me into a depression that I didn't recognized for what it was until many years later.
- 3. What does motherhood mean to you? It means traveling together with my kids on a path of discovery steeped in love, curiosity and courage in the fog of a vast unknown. I am but a vessel to bring my children to this world and we are learning about this thing called life together.
