I think at the root of everything there is love or potential to love.
At the root of justice and liberation, there is love. At the root of justifiable anger, there is love. At the root of sadness, there is love. And at the root of mental health advocacy there is love and understanding that I hope one day stretches across the world with boldness and tenacity.
I’ve spent my whole life dedicated to becoming a person who uses their experiences and pain to create greater empathy and to be a safe space for others. I feel a lot, and so do many others. And I will spend the rest of my life telling others that their mental health and well-being are more valuable and powerful than they realize. Loving themselves and being patient with themselves is loving and being patient with the ones that live with the same mental health obstacles they do.
We can all make it. Just one step at a time.
