Liege, Belgium. March 20th, 2020. While the country is being hit hard by the Covid19 Coronavirus pandemic, the CHC had to move its patients to the site of the new Mont Legia clinic on the heights of the city. The capacity and state-of-the-art facilities will enable the CHC teams to deal more appropriately with this pandemic.
The transfer of patients is, therefore, taking place in a very particular context, requiring even greater precautions.
An incessant ballet of ambulances punctuates the morning commute between the historic CHC hospital, St-Joseph, and the new Mont Legia clinic. The CHC staff, assisted by the Belgian Red Cross and private ambulance companies, will transfer several hundred patients to the new CHC site.
It is also an important moment for the new clinic to prioritize the care of patients infected with Covid19. The afternoon is dedicated to their transfer from the various regional hospital sites of the CHC group.
