As before, the event is being organized by Witness Journal and QR Photogallery, in collaboration with Arci Bologna. The aim is to promote promising new photographers, as well as to launch a travelling festival of social and documentary photography. Five pieces of work will be selected for exhibition in a group show which is expected to take place during 8-10 March 2019) at the QR Photogallery exhibition space.
In addition to the show, there will also be a series of other exhibitions, meetings and workshops, as well as a special edition of Witness Journal dedicated to the selected works.
After the exhibition in Bologna, the first two pieces of work selected will be shown in a number of other locations around Italy in collaboration with a network of project partners, with the aim of expanding the network and promoting social photography in smaller towns and in rural locations where photography does not enjoy the same level of visibility. The panel selecting the five submissions will be composed of members of Witness Journal editorial staff, the curators of QR Photogallery and Arci Bologna’s head of culture.
