About

Sandra Whittington is a fine art photographer and  photojournalist whose work is hard to really sum up in one word - but someone once described it as "non-traditional linear storytelling," and it stuck. Her work focuses on social norms and expectations surrounding women, women's rights, beauty in the mundane - undercurrents of things both said and unsaid, as well as giving a direct creative and visual voice to those she photographs.

Currently she's an intern for VII Photo Agency and a Production Intern with Rake Films. She's also a photography assistant for Michael Rosenberg and in her spare time she works with Mary's Place, a women and children's shelter in Seattle. She's currently working on a few personal projects and is looking for as many freelancing opportunities as she can get. So far in 2016 she's attended The Image Deconstructed Workshop and was a lucky participant of the New York Times Portfolio Review.

I'm looking for freelancing opportunities, particularly on the east coast. Within the next few months I am planning moving back east to pursue my dream of being a photojournalist - but for now, I am in Seattle. To learn more about me, please send me an email! I'd love to chat.
