Tim Ruane is an artist, writer and filmmaker.

He graduated from Georgetown University, where he studied English and art.

Mr. Ruane taught photography at the Edmund Burke School in Washington D.C. and worked as the chief copy editor in the editorial department of The Washington Post, where he also worked as a freelance photographer.

Mr. Ruane has written and directed three Independent short narrative movies, a two-minute silent and many experimental films.

He has exhibited his fine art digital photography in London, Izmir Turkey, New York, Washington D.C. and a number of other U.S. cities.

He has published his photography in The Washington Post, New York Review Books, Simon & Schuster, The Good Men Project, Whisperings and a number of other journals.

He has written hundreds of poems, a number of short stories, and has published his writing in The Washington Post, Whisperings and The Good Men Project.

Mr. Ruane lives and works in Olney, Maryland - just outside Washington, D.C.

Currently, he is filming and editing a short narrative film: "Sometimes the Window Is Blue.”
