I have dedicated a significant part of my life to photojournalism and documentary photography. You can see some of my work published on CNN and other photoblogs. This fact made me...
This wedding dress was first created and worn twenty years ago on the wedding of the Visual Artist Cristina Valadas. Twenty years later, the Artist, after a painful divorce, had the idea of embroidering on her wedding dress the love letters her ex-husband wrote to her while still her fiancé. These letters embroidered on the wedding dress would thus remain for ever, and be a homage to a once great love. The wedding dress would certainly become a work of art. The Artist started her delicate work, embroidering on material as delicate as wild silk and emotions were flowing and healing her sorrow. This work of art is now a memory of something that has been torn apart, and that is why it plays such an important role as a means to keep the dress as well as the memory intact. Above all, it represents love that will last for ever, independently of life and the different choices the couple have made meanwhile. At the end of the task of embroidering, the dress was an important part of the exhibit the Author made on May last year. The Author invited me to photograph the evolution of this work since she started embroidering the dress till the moment it was hung on a public room to be exhibited together with the love letters wrapped in a red lace.
