Federico Sutera was born in Venice , Italy ,on May 19th 1978. In 2003 he finished his degree in Tourism
Economics. It was during that time that he started taking photographs. In the process he realized how
perfect a medium photography was for expressing himself .
In 2005 he moved to Spain where he lived for 5 years. In 2007 he received his masters degree in
documentary photography at Efti in Madrid. In the same year he started to develop his first important
photographic project about Down Syndrome that was showcased at the Galileo Galilei Cultural Center in
Madrid and later published by Feaps Madrid.
In 2010 he moved back to Italy and is currently based in Venice. He works as free-lance photographer at
Xframe Studio which he founded in 2011 in Venice.
He works on personal documentary projects, with particular focus on social subjects as well as commercial ones (events, weddings, corporate).
He actually collaborates with Parallelo Zero photo agency.
His work has been published in magazines such as: L'Espresso, Io Donna, Le Courrier, Bauwelt, Geo, Geo Wissen, Der Spiegel, Condenast amongst many others.
