Shannon Jensen Wedgwood is an American documentary photographer with an interest in intimate storytelling and creative approaches to contemporary social issues. She began her career as a photojournalist in East Africa, but is now based in London. She graduated with a degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 2007.

Shannon won Magnum Photo’s Inge Morath Award in 2014 for the series A Long Walk, depicting the shoes of Sudanese refugees upon their arrival in South Sudan. The series also won Amnesty International’s Media Award, among others. She has received recognition from Pictures of the Year International, the Magenta Foundation, the National Press Photographers Association, PDN and American Photography. She joined Reportage by Getty Images’ Emerging Talent roster in 2011 and was listed as "One to Watch” in American Photo.

Shannon’s photographs have been exhibited in New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, London and Paris. Her work has been published in 6Mois, GEO, Newsweek, Saturday Telegraph Magazine, Stern, Sunday Times Magazine, The New York Times, the Washington Post and others.
