Durga
Durga, the mother Goddess in Hinduism is widely worshipped in Nepal and is said to be the root cause of creation, preservation, and annihilation. When a 7.9 earthquake hit Nepal on April 25th, 2015, parts of the country were widely devastated due to lack of preparedness and adequate infrastructure. Durga was a consistent theme in the way the Nepalese hypothesized what happened to their land and their people. This series documents the conception of Durga and the resilience, faith, and humanity amid the devastation of the earthquake.
