Pablo Serrano is a Puerto Rican artist and photographer currently based in Flatbush, the Little Caribbean of Brooklyn. Starting off with architectural studies and diverting into photography, Pablo completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014, he began exploring vernacular architecture in Puerto Rico as part of his senior thesis and continues to visit his home to develop on this subject. It is evident that the architectural form continues to inform his craft and creative process, and through this subject, Pablo finds meditative conversations with the subject beyond its materiality, conversations of melancholy and sense of belonging. Now in NYC and farther from his island, Pablo is exposed to the melange of nationalities conforming the rest of the Caribbean, the similarities and separations, with desire to find the thread to unify them through his personal photographic vision.
