Zylofone.org and The WallKill River School of Art have been collaborating on a workshop for special-needs children in Montgomery NY.
The combination of music and painting encourages the children to concentrate and focus on the task before them in a fun and relaxed environment. This is no small achievement as the children have all been diagnosed with some form of cognitive limitation.
The children are given instruction and shown examples of the use of color and texture, but they are encouraged to interpret these concepts in their own way.
