Marie-Laure Louis

Marie-Laure was born in the island of Mauritius in 1984 and now lives in Rennes, France. Growing up in a small but multicultural country of 2,040 square kilometer made her yearn for large spaces. She has always felt connected to the world as her family have ancestors around the globe making the question of identity significant in her work. Marie-Laure studied Semiotics at the University of Besaní§on and took courses at the Fine Arts School of the same city, then studied literature and culture of the Americas at the University of Rennes II. After exhibitions of her work on New Orleans in different cities like Nantes and Rennes, she has been selected for the Nuits de Pierrevert (2015) in the south of France.
