My work revolves around identity through memory and the multiple ways it is affected by time and space. I explore our peculiar insistente on remembering  specific events, many of them failed attempts, showing the fine and elusive line between a real memory and fiction.

The two series I present are part of an ongoing, large body of work about the relationship with my twin sister, the journey (both real and metaphorical) we undertook from Argentina to Mexico, the family objects we brought along and the multiple levels of meanings of our story.

After my father´s suicide, when we were 14 years old, our life changed dramatically. Every aspect of our private destiny as an ordinary middle-class family was disrupted to the tragic and sudden death of our father. My sister and I took a road trip with no direction or meaning till we arrive in Mexico, which has been our home ever since.

The uprooting of not being in our country and close to our family and friends, plus the trauma of having lost our father strengthened a bond between my sister and I that has resulted in a complex universe of meanings and roles.

My photos are a journey to our encrypted universe
