This was brought to my attention by Stacy Clarkson today as i had missed out on it while gone offline. it kind of illustrates how the project came together. The assignment truly has been the most pleasant collaboration I had with an editor where I had a lot of freedom, time and resources to pull this story together.

Very excited to announce that our team have been granted by EJC and I will be teaming up with Sophia Jones and Sitara Sadaat to intimately tell the stories of the women - especially mothers - struggling for their rights and a better future in a violent but changing Afghanistan, portraying them as active agents, not victims. The Chris Hondros Fund award can be a bittersweet recognition. The prize comes with a $20,000 grant to support documentary work, but is named after a photojournalist who was killed on April 20, 2011, in Misrata, Libya. Hondros was a deeply respected Getty Images photographer who, over his years on the job, influenced the lives and work of many of his colleagues. Read full article, here.

I will be taking part in this years 'Emerging' group exhibition organised by Photo District News (PDN) Magazine from June 6th to September 20th 2015 in Annenberg Space for Photography, 2000 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA.
Emerging presents images by more than 90 emerging photographers from around the world who bring a fresh perspective and creative techniques to professional photography. The exhibit explores how a new generation of photographers examines a variety of topics, from the personal to the global: youth culture, family, the environment, economic uncertainty, conflict and civil unrest, and the nature of the photographic image.
