About
Lindsay Keys (b. 1989) was raised in Salem, New York, a rural farming town on the border of Vermont.

While growing up among a population of 1,000 people and with little access to the outside world, Lindsay found photography, drawing and painting as a way to transcend an otherwise mundane existence.  Pursuing photography at the college level became the main source of her ambition and in 2007 she graduated valedictorian of her high school class.

She attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where she declared a studio art major with a concentration in photography.  The majority of her undergraduate time was spent underground as the darkroom lab assistant.  Her senior thesis exhibition, "blackout,” was awarded the Jessup Prize by the Art & Art History Department.

Upon graduating in 2011, she moved to New York City and worked as a nanny for fashion photographer Nigel Barker's children.  Upon learning of her passion for photography, Barker offered her a part-time position in his studio.  After a year of working for him and his family, she decided to venture out on her own as a full-time freelance artist.

Since 2012 Lindsay has been freelancing in photography and film production.  Her work has been auctioned, exhibited and published internationally.  She has produced several short films and music videos, and is currently developing a social impact documentary film on the need for healthcare reform.
