As a little girl, I used to read books about magic portals. Walking through wardrobes or mirrors. Being home alone or flying away on a bird. Those were examples of what could make you step out in a different world, for better or for worse. As an adult, I'm still looking for things that could change my perception of reality. Of course there is intoxication, falling in love and giving birth, but I also like to think that taking a random commuter train to the suburbs and wander around without goal could change my life or at least get me in touch with the imagination I had as a child when I believed in a more exciting reality somewhere.
