I am delighted to announce I have been accepted as a Finalist with three images from my "Nevertheless, We Persist" series in the Women Seen by Women exhibit sponsored by The Photography Gala Awards. This exhibit celebrates the 10th Edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers juried by Analy Werbin, Senior Curator of the Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography. It will take place at the Galeria Valid Foto in Barcelona, Spain from April 10 - 28, 2018. The artist reception will be on Thursday, April 12 at 7:30pm. The work will then be exhibited in the 5th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography in the fall also in Barcelona.
A photograph from my project Nevertheless, We Persist is included in this exhibit which runs from 21 September - 29 October in Alexandria, VA. Artist reception is 24 September from 4 - 6 PM.
"The Atheaneum Invitational is a theme-based event featuring the works of both specially-invited artists and works selected through an open call. The year's theme, GLOW, asks artists to create work that shows a sense of lightness or hope emanating from something dark."

"We The People" Exhibit at University of Virginia, Charlottesville
Sunday, August 13, 2017
I am happy to share that seven images from my project Nevertheless, We Persist will be included in a year-long exhibit entitled "We the People" at the University of Virginia Law Library in Charlottesville, VA. The images will be on view over the 2017-2018 academic year, where students will be surrounded by photographs representing the idea encapsulated in the preamble to the American Constitution. Given the terrible events that took place yesterday in the small town of Charlottesville, these ideas are more important than ever.
The opening reception will take place on September 7, 2017 from 5 - 7pm. If you find yourself in the area, please stop by.
