Biography

Originally from Rhode Island, I moved to New York to study photography at (and subsequently graduate) the Tisch School of the Arts in 2008.  After graduation I began working for one of my professors, Yolanda Cuomo, at her design studio, as well as helping Sylvia Plachy as an assistant.  Being able to work for the two of them was one of the most useful things school gave me, they are brilliant and inspired me to trust my gut. I currently work full time at Yolanda's studio as Associate Designer, as well as freelance design and photography.

I have found the balance between my photography and design, both consuming all of my time. My work centers around my ideas and issues with memories, about the cyclical nature of memory and time.  As Marquez said it best, "Life is not what one lived, but what one remembers and how one remembers in order to recount it." That is the aspect of memory that I record, the confusion of what happened, but all that really matters is how the moment felt and your relationship with that moment.
