Photographer and Publicist, Juan Pablo Ampudia
was born in Jalisco, Mexico.
After studying Advertising, he alternated between designing 360° campaigns for consumer brands and documentary photography. He specializes in portraiture and daily life, and for the past 4 years has covered LGBTTI community stories around the world, working in Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa and in Mexico. Focusing mainly in the transgender community.
He also has been documenting the struggle of the Afro-Brazilian community whose ancestors were forced into slavery and are now part of an unfair political and economic situation with almost no access to education, jobs, and medical care.
He is currently working on a personal project about his mother’s journey, who for more than 20 years has suffered from multiple sclerosis. A degenerative and incurable illness of which he would like to raise awareness for people to understand better MS and the struggle of all who suffer it.
