This series of photos is the documentary about my father's nephritis disease. He got this disease 8 years ago by a fever. Due to poor medical care, his fever turned to be the nephritis, which means his blood loses the capability to clean toxins in his body. He has been taking western and herbal medicine for 6 years, which causes him mental and physical pain. Two years ago, he began to receive dialysis treatment, so he has to go to hospital three times a week at least to clean his whole body's blood. It's extremely painful; the doctor gives him injections in the same spot of his left arm ceaselessly. The shape of my father's left arm has been changed from this treatment. Even though he got the medical treatment, he still has to face the danger of greater mortality in his life. He is such a strong person that he has never really talked his feeling of pain to since I was little. I respect and admire how hardworking and positive he is in his life. Through this series of photos, I got a chance to sit down with him, take care of him, listen to his life and get close to him. I am his daughter, in a sense; we have the same blood. When he suffers pain, I can feel the same feeling. I want to use this documentary to record his life and cherish the moment when I live with him.
