You see him do his make up and transformation by the mirror; you see him wear tight corset to bind his breast every day; you see him get hormone injections every week; you also see him be double careful when he walks on the streets "¦"¦
This is a young transgender boy, Jin, who is in the process of transform from female to male. To be a transgender individual living in the U.S, malicious provocation, bullying and murder have never stopped. Their life situation is very complex. Since I met Jin, he has been wearing tight corset everyday and getting hormone injections per week that even influence his physical sentiment and skeletal development. From other people's view, this may be an extremely horrific experience. But for Jin, this is a good method to make him feel comfortable and free. For me, I am glad to record his life and share it to other people who might be feeling confused to their genders, or be suffering the ambient pressure.
To take each photos of Jin is to breathe each emotions of him and support his life at the same time. To take each photos of Jin is to present them to people and appreciate his life to me. It is an appreciation of watching him become himself.
