Zisis Kardianos was born in Zakinthos (1962) where he still lives and works. He attended photography courses in the Focus school of photography in Athens (1985-1986) and studied sociology in Deree College of Athens. He entered into photography in 1985 but after a long hiatus his interest was invigorated in 2004. He is a founding member of the international photography collective  ”Burn My Eye” and he is represented by the international agency “Millenium Images”. In 2012 he published the book “A sense of place” where he throws an oblique look on the daily life of his home island. He has published numerous travel photo-essays, portfolios, articles and interviews in a number of magazines and on the internet. Several of his photographs are decorating covers of literature books. In 2012 he exhibited in a solo show his series “Off-season” during the Athens Photo Festival and he has participated in six group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He frequently organizes and leads photographic workshops.
