Moving home to Seattle, the scenic city of my youth, inspired me to pick up the camera after working in the music industry of Los Angeles. I found a community at Photographic Center Northwest, where I received my certificate of photography, and after three years of study held my thesis show which focused on temporary memorials for those who died due to state sponsored violence in SE Asia and those killed by law enforcement in Washington State.

I am still moved to explore communities who have dealt with tragedy and recently collaborated with Cafe Racer, a place that experienced gun violence in the University District of Seattle, in creating a pin-up style calendar of the men who work and patronize this neighborhood institution as a way to reclaim the fun spirit of the space. I also co-created Studio F, an artist run photography gallery in the Tashiro-Kaplan building.

My love of adventure has taken me all over the world, most of the time on the back of a motorcycle, and one of my landscape photos of the polluted waters of Howe Sound in British Columbia was a finalist for the Eco Arts Awards in 2013. When I am not traveling you will find me back in Los Angeles, with my amazing husband and our annoyingly adorable cat.
