The United States has experienced a slow but steady decrease in industrial production since the industrial revolution. This is a process known as deindustrialization, wherein social and economic changes and technological advances result in an industrial decline, creating an incapability of a country's supply meeting its demand.
Factories that once served as local employment have closed leaving the working class jobless. Globalization has increased outsourced manufacturing, and the fall of American industries has expanded social stratification. Industry touches on topical economic issues our nation faces today concentrating on where we’ve been and where we're headed.
