Denis Yakovlev

I was born in Krasnodar on the 30th of June year 1984. In 2001 I’ve entered advertisement faculty of the Krasnodar University of Culture and Arts. However in 2004 photography fascinated me so much that after graduation I forgot about my profession and began to work as a photographer for the local news sites.

The main theme of my photos are people who found themselves in difficult life situation, when it seems like there is no exit. Observing the situation from the inside I tried to reach the necessary level of transparency and to show not only the current situation but also the reasons which it was caused by. Nevertheless my heroes hope for the best, even when it seems like there’s no hope at all.
