Deafening Sound examines the deep roots of gender-based violence and misogyny in American society. Presently, it combines three documentary projects, a portrait series and a collection of artifacts -- each chapter examining different ways this type of violence persists in America. This project works to reduce the stigma surrounding gender-based violence, understand trauma, address the cycle of abuse, and critique rape culture.

This series contains a selection of images from each of the chapters.
